 | You scored as Postmodernist. Postmodernism is the belief in complete open interpretation. You see the universe as a collection of information with varying ways of putting it together. There is no absolute truth for you; even the most hardened facts are open to interpretation. Meaning relies on context and even the language you use to describe things should be subject to analysis.

01:38 pm - I used to like winter... I now feel like an old woman.
I slipped on the ice on the way in to work this morning and have fractured my wrist. Typing with one hand is a real pain, hell right now doing anything that involves moving my left hand/arm at all is a real pain.
The other really depressing point in this episode was the fact that the doctor I saw at the hospital was younger than me... Current Mood: sore

10:30 pm - Vaguely seasonal Trying to do too many things at once is not good for me or anyone around me for that matter.
It's the usual mad seasonal clear up round here, made worse by the fact that brother #1 and wife are coming over from the States in a couple of days. Brother #2 and wife will also be arriving at some point before the 25th so its going to get rather crowded round here.
Anyway, Seasonal greetings to everyone
Oh, and this is what I was originally going to write about

02:43 pm - And it's another rainy night without you. Hmm, what to say..?
As some of you may have gathered I'm rather happy at the moment. As a result I've not been around much and have missed some things I shouldn't have done (Sorry Meg!). Anyway, for those depressed by the current grey drizzleyness of the day, it was rather nice at 8 o'clock this morning so I took some pictures ( clicky ) Enjoy!

12:08 pm - Idea nicked from Beleraphon 1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two. 2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS. 3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

12:25 pm - Hugs One of the reasons I like working at the beer festival so much is that I get (and give) lots of hugs. Roughly half of them are "hello" or "goodbye" hugs, and most of the rest of them are "you look tired" type hugs. There is no pressure, its just friendly.
We finished packing up yesterday and I haven't had a hug since 6pm last night. I already miss everyone.
The world would be a much nicer place if there were more hugs in it. Current Mood: melancholy Current Music: Brown Eyed Girl

07:47 pm - Busy, busy, busy. As most of you know this past week has been Beer Festival week, so as usual I have been exceptionally busy. What I didn't know till I walked into St Andrew's on Monday evening was that the PTB had decided to promote me to bar manager so I was even busier than usual. I also hadn't mentioned to anyone before now that I had agreed to be a driver for the festival. This means that for the last few days I have been driving a 3.5 tonne lorry round Norwich. Fun fun fun.
The festival this year has been a HUGE success, record numbers of customers and ridiculous amounts of beer consumed :)
Oh yes, I also had a job interview on Thursday and have landed myself a nice little contract at NU for the rest of the year. I'm rather pleased with myself about that one, as I didn't even have to apply for it.
Might add more later when I have caught up with some sleep.

10:24 am - Computer Problems Here's one for all you tech types out there.
I recently reinstalled Neverwinter Nights for various reasons and since then have been having nothing but problems with my machine. Specifically with my graphics card. At first NwN installed updated and played fine.
The next day I came in from work and turned on my computer to discover 4bit 640x480 graphics and no amount of playing with the settings would change that. So off came the side, I took the card out cleaned up some dust and put the card back in. All worked fine on boot up.
Only problem after that was that NwN was complaining about an OpenGL driver size mismatch and refusing to run. So updated both mboard and grphics drivers from the nvidia site (FX5200 Ultra) NwN still refused to work.
Cut to Saturday, reinstalled NwN and forced it through set up. It still complained about the drivers but would play. Everything seemed to be fine.
Cut to this morning.
I have 4bit graphics again. This is not good. Any ideas folks?
Update: Re-seating the graphics card did (after two reboots) fix the problem again, but I really don't want to keep having to yank the card every couple of days. Current Mood: aggravated
